Louise B Sperber, 78, of Peter Becker Community in Harleysville died suddenly on March 30, 2017. She was the wife of Joseph H Wilkens. They had been married for ten years. She was known to be caring; engaging; loyal friend; competitive; helpful; fun as a companion; women’s sports person; leader; and good sport team coach as well as a ‘student respected' teacher in the Jenkintown School system for 33 years. She graduated from Cheltenham HS in ’56, Ursinus College in ’60 with a B.S. and Temple with a M.Ed. During her life, she attended Camp Woodmere for many summers; played many sports in college, coached girls field hockey and lacrosse teams; was a member of Phi Alpha Psi Sorority at Ursinus; and a member of Philadelphia ski club for 50 years. She loved children and helped hundreds to achieve their potential. Helping children and travel were her favorites after retirement. A “celebration of life” will be held on May 20 at 1-4PM at Franconia Heritage Banquet Center- 508 Harleysville Pike, Telford, PA 18969.
