Louis E. Bokan, 93, of Vermont, and formerly of Hellertown PA, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2013. He was the husband of Laura Ann (Getz) Bokan, who died in November of 2012. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Philip and Pauline (Donosa) Bokan. He began his career with the former Bethlehem Steel Corp. prior to WWII. He served his country honorably in the Navy Seabees in the Pacific Theater during the war. Following his military service, he opened Bokan Brothers Electrical Contractors with his brother Frank in Hellertown, which he operated from 1952 to 1965. Following that, he worked for the PA Department of General Services as a Construction Inspector for 18 years until retiring in 1983. He was a former member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bethlehem, a lifetime member of the VFW in Hellertown, and an active member of the American Legion in Hellertown. Survivors: Sons, David and his wife Dianne, and Richard, and his wife Carol, both of Vermont; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild; and sibling, Joseph Bokan and his wife Patricia, of Brick, NJ. Services: Private interment services with full military honors will be held at Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
