Lloyd Archibald

May 13, 1922 — November 15, 2011

Lloyd A. Archibald "Arch", 89, of Emmaus, died in his home November 15, 2011. He was the husband of the late Dorothy (Sinclair) Archibald. They were married for 62 years before her passing in 2007. Born in Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada, he was a son of the late Carl W. and Susanah I. (Atkinson) Archibald. "Arch" was the preferred way to greet him. At one time, he was a deacon in the baptist church and would play Santa Claus for the kids. He was a devoted volunteer for the Blind Association, Mercy Learning Center, and Animals in Distress. He was a former member of the Kiwanis Club and a member of the F. & A. M. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing bridge with his wife, Dorothy. Arch was a Vice President of G.A.C. Finance and took an early retirement to open his own furniture refinishing and antique restoration shop, Archibald's Refinishing in Emmaus. His love for dogs led him to Animals in Distress and taking his wolf into schools for show and tell. Survivors: A son, Craig Archibald of Washington, NJ; grandchildren: Lori Archibald Dilcher and Deborah Archibald Harriott; and great grandchildren: Jordan Harriott, Sydney Dilcher, Devan Harriott, and Molly Dilcher. Services: will be held privately. Contributions may be made in his memory to the Animals In Distress, 5075 Limeport Pk., Coopersburg PA 18036.
