Linford E. Diehl, 74, of Green Lane, passed away October 4, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Loretta (Uhlig) Diehl. The couple was married 56 years last October. Born in Quakertown, he was a son of the late Eugene and Martha (Hersh) Diehl. He was the last of 9 children. Linny was an appliance repairman, first for the former Bieler & Reigner's, then Reigner's, and finally independently. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Sumneytown, where he and his wife served as sextons for 33 years. He was also a former member of the church council and an usher. Linny was a past Zoning Officer for the Borough of Green Lane, a past member of the Green Lane-Marlborough Lions Club; and a life member of both Green Lane and Pennsburg Fire Companies. He enjoyed cheering on the Philadelphia Sports teams. Surviving with his wife, are children; Ronald, and his wife, Karen, of Pennsburg; Sharon, wife of Michael Snell, and Michael, and his wife, Kathy, all of Green Lane; grandchildren: Curtis, and his fiancée, Tiffany; Christie, and her fiancé, Jack; Zachery, and his wife, Jennifer; Nicholas, Emily, Braeden, Avery, and Kelly; and a great-grandson, Logan. Services will be on Thursday, at 11 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church, 3104 Main Street, Sumneytown. A viewing will be from 9-11 AM at church. Interment will follow at Friedens Union Cemetery. the Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pennsburg, is in charge of arrangements.
