Lindy D. Thompson-Tressler

November 20, 1962 — April 29, 2024

“Our Beloved Lindy”

A shining light was dimmed with the passing of Lindy Thompon-Tressler on April 29, 2024. Lindy was taken far too soon at 61, after a valiant fight against cancer.

Lindy was the beloved wife and soulmate of Romy Tressler. They lived and loved “side by side” for over 42 years. Lindy and Romy also shared a sweet, furry daughter named “Finley.”

Lindy was predeceased by her mother, Dorothy Morrison Thompson. Lindy is survived by her father, Robert Thompson; and siblings, Colleen Goodman and her boyfriend Steve, Cindy Bartholomew and her husband Nick, Dave Thompson and his wife Pam, Bill Thompson and his wife Sue, and Robert Thompson and his wife Joyce.

Her departure will also be deeply felt by her mother-in-law, Judith Brndjar; father-in-law, Paul Tressler; and step-mothers-in-law, Kathleen Tressler and Nancy Tressler. Also grieving Lindy’s loss are sisters-in-laws; Brittany Tressler, Andi Rolley, and Kelly Detweiler; and brothers-in-law, Michael Tressler, Rob White, and “Buddy” T. White.

Lindy was blessed with many dear friends and family and numerous nieces and nephews. Lindy and Romy wish to express deep gratitude to those who supported and assisted them through this journey.

Anyone fortunate enough to know Lindy would count as her many gifts her: fearlessness, strength of spirit, grace, wisdom, selflessness, kindness, patience, humor, and integrity.

Anything Lindy did, she did well. She cared deeply for the welfare of her K-12 students and their families in her role as a school bus driver for many years. Lindy was also a selfless caregiver to her mother-in-law, Judith, during her time of need.

Lindy’s passions including caring for and loving her many dogs, “cottaging” in her cabin on the lake in Ontario, Canada, motor boating, kayaking, gardening, and helping anyone with a need.

Lindy was an “Angel on Earth.” Her early departure brings much sorrow, but all were better for having known her.
