Leonard Michael Mcgrath

Leonard M. McGrath, 84, of Bechtelsville, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 6, 2021. He was the husband of the late Helen (Dougherty) McGrath who passed in 2019. Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late William and Minerva McGrath. He served his county honorably in the Army where he was trained as a cryptographer. Len worked in banking, retiring as a Vice President of the former Core States Bank, which took over Philadelphia National Bank where he started. He was an active member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Bally. He also served as treasurer for the Spring Valley Village Residents Association for over 10 years. He is survived by his goddaughter, Joanne Wilkinson and her husband James, and their children Jaime & Jenni, all of Barto. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Mary Dougherty and many nieces and nephews. Along with his wife, Len was predeceased by his siblings, Jack, Bill and Doll. All are invited to a viewing from 9 to 10:15 on Wednesday with a Funeral Mass at 10:30 am in Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 610 Pine St, Bally. A committal service will be held in Resurrection Cemetery in Bensalem, PA at 12:45 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Visit his “Book of Memories” at falkfuneralhomes.com.
