Larry Donald Powers, Sr., 83, of Palm, formerly of Salfordville, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2026 at LifeQuest, Quakertown. He was the husband of Nancy J. (Valentine) Powers. Larry was born in Chester, PA on April 10, 1943 to the late Walter and Bertha (Hornberger) Powers. Larry was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, having enlisted in 1962, and serving honorably until his discharge in 1966, achieving the rank of GMT3. His time in the military instilled in him values of discipline and commitment that he carried throughout his life.
After his service, Larry worked as a printer for the former American Electronics in Colmar, PA for 20 years before transitioning to a career in sales with Sands Auto Group, Quakertown, where he worked for another 20 years until his retirement. A founding member and part of the planning Board for the construction of the former Lighthouse Christian Fellowship Church, Larry dedicated his life to uplifting his community and sharing his faith. In his leisure, he enjoyed doing puzzles, gardening, and hunting, embracing the beauty of the outdoors. Larry was also a passionate Philadelphia sports fan, supporting all of the Philly teams. His family was always at the center of his life, and he was known for his unwavering support and love for them.
In addition to his loving wife of 60 years, Larry is survived by his children: Debra L. (Anthony) Noland of East Greenville, and Don (Mary) Powers of Palm; grandchildren: Luke (Kaknika), Mason (Alena), Lauren; step-grandchildren: Sierra, Leigh; step-great-grandchildren: Kayden, Aiyana.
Family and friends are invited to his visitation Wednesday, July 8, 2026 from 6-8 pm and Thursday, July 9, 2026 from 9-10 am at Perkiomenville Mennonite Church, 1836 Gravel Pike, Perkiomenville, PA 18074 followed by a funeral service at 10am. The interment will conclude services with military honors at Limerick Gardens. The Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pennsburg are handling the arrangements.
