November 18, 1929 — October 24, 2024

Laney Evelyn Gaenzle (Bowser), 94 of Topton and formerly of Bally and Hereford, PA, passed away peacefully at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Bethlehem on Thursday, October 24, 2024. She was pre-deceased in 1995, by her husband of 43 years, Richard Eugene Gaenzle.

Born in Somerset Township, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles A. and Martha (Sinnett) Bowser.

In her teenage years, she moved with her mother to Lancaster, PA, worked at Hamilton Watch Factory and later met and married her husband, Richard. In addition to helping her husband in their business, Hereford Antiques, Laney was a member and secretary for Zion’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Old Zionsville, for many years.

You could almost always find her with some home decorating project, garden tool, puzzle or book close by. She passed on her great love of plants, gardening, bird watching and reading to her children and grandchildren.

As the youngest and last of 9 children, Laney leaves behind her son, Richard E. of Leesport; daughters, Lynn LoPresti and husband Peter of Alburtis; Michelle (Mickey) Colbaugh of Topton; Cindy Yaskowski and husband Paul of East Greenville; and Jenny Gaenzle and partner Ronald Mathias of Fort Fairfield, ME, as well as 10 grandchildren, Gary, Jason, Frank, Chris, Paul, Sarah, Amy, Amanda, Michael, Anastasia and 7 great-grandchildren.

A brief graveside service will be held at Zion’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Old Zionsville, PA on Friday, November 8, 2024, at 11 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to either Upper Perkiomen Valley Library, 350 Main St., Red Hill, PA 18076 or to St. Luke’s Hospice House at Development Office, 801 Ostrum St., Bethlehem, PA 18015.
