Lane R. “Geps” Gebert, 85, of Upper Hanover Twp. Passed away on Monday, April 13, 2009 at Grand View Hospital, Sellersville after a long illness. He was the husband of Narona (Kemmerer) Gebert. They were married 60 years in September 2008. Born in Pennsburg, he was the son of the late John and Emma (Reppert) Gebert. Lane was a veteran of World War II, serving in the 8th Army Air Corps for 3 years as a radio operator and turret gunner on a B24. He flew 35 bombing missions over Germany and France. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross, the European-Middle East medal, 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, and more. He was employed in the maintenance department at Knoll International, East Greenville for 20 years, before retiring in 1985. Before that, he worked as a carpenter and builder for the late Chester Christman for 19 years and earlier at Keasby and Madison Asbestos, Ambler for 4 years. His hobby was constructing shelf and wall clocks. His interests were in sports and especially the game of golf. He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Pennsburg. He was also a member of the American Legion, Post #184, Palm; and the Red Hill Fire Company. Surviving: with his wife, are daughters: Roxana, wife of Ralph McCraw, of Cape May, NJ; and Terry Krause, of Pennsburg; a son Scott K. Gebert, and his wife, Diane, of East Greenville; brothers: Earl Gebert, of Pennsburg; and Paul Gebert, and his wife, Doris, of The Villages, FL; 3 grandchildren: Robert Krause, Lisa Krause, and Shane Gebert, 2 step-grandchildren: Kimberly and Shannon; and 2 step great-grandchildren: Cali and Izzy. Services: Memorial Services will be on Friday at 11 AM at the Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pennsburg. Friends may call on Friday from 10-11 AM.
