Kathryn Freed

Kathryn R. Freed, of Frederick Living, and formerly of Zieglerville, died October 6, 2012 at Grandview Hospital. She was the widow of Earl B. Freed. Born in Frederick, she was a daughter of the late Augustus and Elsie (Stengel) Renninger. She was a sorter for the former American Olean Tile Co, Lansdale for 25 years. Prior to that, she was employed at the former Paregan Bag Factory, Schwenksville, and at Harleysville Insurance. Kathryn was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Sassamansville. As a young woman, she was an expert water skier. Surviving: is a brother, Earl Renninger, of Obelisk; sisters: Helen Mercer, of Obelisk, and Fern Hein, of Gilbertsville; and nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by siblings: Mabel Stetler, Irma Wolf Smith, Allen, Willard, and Claude Renninger. Services will be private. The Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pennsburg is in charge of arrangements.
