Julie Elizabath Halvorsen

Julie Elizabeth (Rockenbeck) Halvorsen, age 76 of Wallingford, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 9th, 2024. Born in Chester, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late John and Adora (Bryant) Rockenbeck. Julie spent most of her life living in her home in Wallingford before moving to Reading, Pennsylvania to live with her daughter and family. She devoted her life to teaching and caring for children. Initially serving as a nursery school teacher for several years, Julie went on to establish her own thriving home daycare, where she became affectionately known as "Miss Julie" by many in her community. She had the pleasure of caring for many children including her own grandchildren. She found joy in adorning her home with seasonal decorations and tending to her beautiful gardens. Julie was loved and admired by many who were blessed to know her, and her memory will be forever cherished.

She is survived by her children, son Gregory, husband of Maureen Halvorsen and daughter Kristen, wife of David Schwenk. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Brennan and Clare Halvorsen, and Andrew and Elizabeth Schwenk; and her siblings David Rockenbeck and Adora Hendrickson. She was preceded in death by her sister Evangelina Hewes.
