Josephine Dornin

Josephine (Josie) Marie Dornin, 97, of Coopersburg passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025. Born in New Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Anthony and Mary Rita (Zetavetsky) Benderavage. Josephine was predeceased by her loving husband: Wilbur (Bill) Hodges Dornin.

She and Bill created and ran a bakery business for several years. She worked in Home Care, caring and devoting her time to all who needed it. She was kind and intelligent with a quirky humor. This tiny and tough Lithuanian lady was adventurous. She hiked the Appalachian trail, skydived and travelled everywhere. Her hobbies also included photography, science, and art. Josie was an avid reader. The thickest novel wouldn't begin to describe her light.

Surviving are her children: Paul Dornin; Valerie (Patrick) McCarty; Esther Dornin, and her husband Michael Whitley; Nikki Dornin; Eric (Lori) Dornin; and Aleta (Andrew) Link; 7 grandchildren: Melissa, Robert, Laura, Noah, Jeremiah, Jamie, and Amanda; 13 great-grandchildren: her sister: Teri Adkins; and her sister-in-law: Lesley. Along with her husband Wilbur, she was predeceased by her children: Gloria, and Stephen; and her siblings: Marie, Emma, and Joseph.
