Joseph Lamont

Joseph Lawrence LaMont passed away on Sunday evening, May 4, 2014. He was 77. LaMont was born on October 17, 1936 in Hazelton, PA and moved to Somerset, NJ early in his childhood. He remained a resident of the Somerset/Hunterdon area for most of his life. LaMont served in the United States Army, where he played baseball and was signed to play for the St. Louis Cardinals, rising to the AAA level. LaMont ran several successful businesses in the area, including Mr. Joseph’s Hairstyling. He spent his time after that driving a school bus for Hunterdon Central High School. In addition to his love of baseball, LaMont enjoyed golf, fishing and coaching and playing recreational sports. He leaves behind his loving daughter, Nicole, three grandchildren and his former wife and friend, and many friends. He will be dearly missed. A memorial for LaMont will be held at Washington Crossing United Methodist in Washington Crossing, PA on May 24, 2014 at 11AM.
