John Solis

John Anthony Solis, 79, of Bedford Lane, Lansdale, died April 11, 2010 at Easton Hospital, Easton, PA. He was the husband of Maria Guadalupe (Acereto) de Solis. Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Rafael and Zoila (Sansores) Solis. He was a mechanical engineer at W.A. Whitney Corp., Mexico City, Mexico before retiring in 1981. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Mary, Mother of Redeemer, Catholic Church, North Wales. He loved wood carving. Surviving with his wife, is a son, Juan Antonio Solis, and his wife, Laura, of North Wales; Daughters: Maria Elena Solis, Rosa Maria Solis-Brophy, and Lupita Solis, all of Lansdale; and Judith, wife of Luis Poblete of Merida, Yucatan, Mexico; Brothers: Charles Solis, and his wife, Alma, of Warminster; and Henry Solis, of Philadelphia; and 5 grandchildren: Luis, Juan, Ricky, Kyle, and Isabella. He was pre-deceased by sister, Mary McIntyre, and a sister-in-law, Theresa Solis. Memorial Mass will be at 10 AM on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Catholic Church, 1325 Upper State Road, North Wales, PA 19454. Friends may call on Thursday at the church from 9-9:45 AM. The Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pennsburg, is in charge of arrangements.
