John Morykan, 91, of Hellertown, died May 25, 2010 at the VNA Hospice House of St. Luke’s. He was the husband of the late Theresa (Clark) Morykan. Born in Berwyk, PA, he was a son of the late John and Anna (Danylo) Morykan. He worked in the beam yard at the former Bethlehem Steel for over 30 years before retiring. He was also an auctioneer in the Lehigh Valley area since 1965 and in the later years he loved doing flea markets and talking to his old customers. He served his country honorable in the Army, stationed in Germany during WWII. He was a member of St. Josaphat Ukrainian Church, Bethlehem. John was also a member of the Lehigh Valley Auctioneers Assn, American Legion, Post #397, Hellertown, and the Democratic Club, Hellertown. He was also an avid hunter and he loved going to White Haven Hunting Camp. Survivors: Daughter, Joanne, wife of Stephen Salash; and a son, Raymond, and his wife, Dana, both of Bethlehem; Sisters: Mary Kline, of Hatfield; and Anna Vatza, of Hellertown; 6 grandchildren: Brian, Cheryl, Stacey, Shelley, Kristin, and Zach; 7 great-grandchildren: Logan, Samantha, Jared, Sophia, Madalyn, Lucas, and Sydney. He was pre-deceased by a son, George, and a brother, George. Services will be at 2 PM on Thursday, at the Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1418 Main Street, Hellertown. Interment will be in St. Josaphat Ukrainian Cemetery, Bethlehem. A viewing will be from 1-2 PM at the funeral home.
