John B. “Jack” Mensch, 78, of Pennsburg, died March 13, 2008. He was the husband of Helen M. (Kelly) Mensch. Born in Pennsburg, he was a son of the late Clarence and Mary (Bartholomew) Mensch. He was a graduate of Pennsburg High School, and of the Taylor Business School, Philadelphia. Jack served his country honorably in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was a scheduler for the former Bethlehem Steel Co., first in Pottstown and then Bethlehem, for 32 years, retiring in 1982. After his retirement from Bethlehem Steel, he was employed by the Upper Perkiomen School District. Jack was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Pennsburg; and was a life member, and former Chief of the Pennsburg Fire Company. He was also a member of the Smoke Hill Hunting Club in Pike County, PA. Surviving is his wife; Sons: John Mensch, and wife, Deborah, of Royersford, PA; and James Mensch, and wife Laurene, of Irmo, SC; Step-son: Charles Mundy, and wife, Susan, of Palmyra, PA; and step-daughters: Janet, wife of David Pursel, of Bechtelsville, PA; and Nancy Paskel, of Virginia Beach, VA; and a sister, Carol Eschbach, of Harleysville; 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be on Monday at 11 AM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Pennsburg. Friends may call on Monday at the church from 10-11. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Pennsburg.
