John Goetz

John Pasquale Goetz Sr., 82, of Pennsburg, passed away in his home surrounded by his family on September 6, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Loretta (Beller) Goetz. Born in Reading, he was a son of the late John Max and Florence "Minnie" (DeAnglis) Goetz. He was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Pennsburg. John served his country honorably as a Corporal in the Army. Following his service, he was a farmer and then he worked in the Lynnfield Foundry. Following that, he worked for Ametek US Gauge in Sellersville and then he worked for Moyer & Son in Franconia as a butcher. He retired from Cross Brothers Meat Packers in Philadelphia where he was also a butcher. In addition, he owned the Suburbia Thriftway Store in Pottstown from 1975 - 1992. He was a member of American Legion Post #184 in Palm; a life member of VFW Post #5954 in Red Hill; and a member of the Red Hill and Green Lane Fire Companies. Survivors: wife; daughters: Marie, wife of Randy Pursel of East Greenville, Judith, wife of Mark Peart and Christine, wife of William Klinger both of Pennsburg; a daughter-in-law, Denise Goetz of Collegeville; a sister, Dolores Martin of Pikeville; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Wanda Genery, a son John P. Goetz Jr., and a brother, Joseph. Services: At his request, there will be no services. His arrangements have been entrusted to Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pennsburg.
