John J. Engle, 85, of East Greenville, died May 12, 2012. He was the widower of Eileen (Mallon) Engle, who died this past March. Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late James and Mary (Hoy) Engle. He served his country honorably in the Navy during WWII. He was employed at the former Firestone, then Occidental Co, Pottstown, for over 40 years. John was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Pennsburg, where he was a past president of the Holy Name Society; and a member of the Upper Perkiomen Senior Citizens Center. He enjoyed farming and horses; visiting Ireland and going on casino bus trips; all things Irish and his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are children: Eileen Engle, and her husband, Thomas Mallouk, of Doylestown; James, and his wife, Dorothy, of Sellersville; Kathleen, widow of Charles Simmons, of East Greenville; John, and his wife Michelle, of Gilbertsville; Mary, wife of Kerry Levengood, of Boyertown; Daniel, and his wife, Jill, of Pennsburg; Patrick, of Pennsburg; and Jeannine Engle, and her husband, William Murphy, of East Greenville; a brother, Edward Engle, of Southampton; 30 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by a brother, James Engle. Funeral Mass will be at 11 AM on Friday at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Pennsburg. A viewing will be from 7-9 PM on Thursday and from 9:30-10:30 AM on Friday at the Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, 163 Main Street, Pennsburg. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Pennsburg.
