Johanna "Jo" Marie Price

Johanna "Jo" Marie Price, 77, of Hellertown, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at Abington Manor, Williams Twp. She was the wife of Richard S. Price. Jo was born in Allentown on December 12, 1948 to the late John, Jr. and Mary (Procak) Yuhas.

Jo earned her Bachelor's Degree from Kutztown University and her Master's Degree from Lehigh University. She devoted 36 years to teaching in the Allentown School District, where her passion for education inspired many. In addition to her classroom work, Jo dedicated 13 years to the Hellertown Area Library, spearheading the beloved Dr. Seuss Children's Program, fostering a love of reading in her community. An active member of the educational community, Jo served as past President and contributed to all committees of Alpha Delta Kappa, a women's educational sorority in the Lehigh Valley. Her commitment to education and community service will be remembered fondly by all who knew her. She was a member of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Roman Catholic Church, Hellertown.

Survivors: In addition to her loving husband of 52 years; daughter: Ellen M. Price of Hellertown; son: Michael R. (Lisa) Price of West Chester; grandchildren: Ryan Price & Matthew Price. She was predeceased by her siblings: Stephen Yuhas & Pat Souder.

Services: Family and friends are invited to her visitation 10-11am Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at the Connell Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 1418 Main Street Hellertown, followed by a prayer service at 11am. The inurnment will conclude services at The Union Cemetery of Hellertown.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Hellertown Area Library, 409 Constitution Avenue, Hellertown, PA 18055.
