JoAnne E. Smith, 88, of Lower Gwynedd Township, PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 28th, 2021. Born in Scranton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Clayton and Elizabeth (Adams) Heil. She was raised in Philadelphia, PA. She attended school at the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf and graduated from Dobbins Vocational Technical High School in 1953. Her first job after graduating was as a seamstress at the Stetson Hat Company. She later moved to Harleysville, PA to raise her family and resided there for 40 years. JoAnne worked at and retired from Allergy and Pediatric Allergy Associates in Sellersville. Many would remember her bright smile, easy-going personality, and her quick laugh. She is survived by her daughters: Kathleen and her husband, Dr. John Curley; Karen and her husband, Craig Rooks; Diane and her husband, Andrew Thomas; and her sons David Smith and his wife Karen Mae; Joseph Smith and his wife Linda; and her beloved grandchildren: Kara Curley; Kevin Curley and his wife Natalie; Colin Smith; and Elizabeth Thomas. In addition, she is survived by her extended family Travis and Kitzia Rooks and their two daughters; Kyle and Amanda Waldowski and their three children; and Jacob and Kerri-Allyson Reeves and their three daughters. JoAnne loved and was loved by many others including many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by Richard Smith; a brother, Joseph Heil and a sister, Nancy Zushin. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to a charity of your choice.
