Joan Hawkrider

Joan Hawkrider, 75, of Pennsburg, passed away August 30, 2013 at home. She was the beloved wife of Edward Hawkrider. Born in East Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Homer Christman and Catherine (Albitz) Cressman Deischer. She was a 1955 graduate of Upper Perkiomen High School. Joan began her career as a playground instructor and crossing guard for the Upper Perkiomen School District. She then worked for the former Plummer Precision Co, Pennsburg. Before retiring, she was a nanny. Surviving with her husband, are children; Ricky Matta, and his wife, Annie, of Miami. Fl; Mary, wife of Dennis Newett, of Los Angeles, CA; and Lance Hawkrider, of Huffs Church; a sister, Sandy, wife of Brian Bechtel, of East Greenville, and 3 grandchildren. Services will be private.
