Joan Patrice Baker

February 22, 1940 — July 7, 2023

Joan Ritchotte Baker of Life Quest Nursing Facility in Quakertown, PA died on July 7, 2023 at 7:25pm at the age of 83 years of age. Joan was the daughter of the late Henry and Ellen(Conlin) Ritchotte. Joan was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA and lived in Berkeley, Cal, Syracuse, NY, South Jersey and finally, Quakertown, PA.

Joan graduated from the former Ravenhill Academy, Philadelphia in 1957, attended Chestnut Hill College, Philadelphia, and graduated from Holy Names College, Oakland, California in 1961.

Joan is survived by her three children: Ellyn-Patrice(Steve Hall) of Marysville, Washington State, Henry Scott Baker (Kay Swanson) of Seguin, Texas and William Michael Baker (Linda Baker) of Quakertown, Pennsylvania. She was Nana to Brittani and Brandon Baker, Keeley Baker and Emyly Patrice, Eryn Payton and Lee Henry Hall. She is also survived by her brother, John F. Ritchotte, Washington, D.C. numerous beloved cousins and beloved nieces and nephews. She loved her very large, extended family. She also leaves behind very valued and loved dear friends.

Joan is preceded in death by her parents as well as sisters, MarieLouise Kelleher, Ellen Evans, sister-in-law- Rowena Plant Ritchotte, niece- Ellenmarie Evans McKeever and nephew- Thomas Ritchotte.

A memorial service will take place and will be announced at a later time. It was Joan's strongest desire to donate her body to science.

Joan loved books. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mrs. Ellyn Ritchotte which will go to the making of various "little Libraries" in Quakertown, Texas and in Washington State. Donations will be used for the building of these little libraries and keeping them stocked. Joan was an avid reader for her entire life. Please leave wonderful stories and condolences at the Falk funeral Home page. .We are thankful for Caring Hospice as well as Deb Dimmick, Elaine Croissette, Barbara Bleam and Linda Weaver who were regular visitors. Her friend Edna Rush from Life Quest was also a special person who came into Joan's life.

Her smile and laughter will be missed greatly. What a life she had!! . .
