Jerome J. Dougherty, Jr., 85, of Leithsville Road, Hellertown, and formerly of Cherry Hill, NJ, died May 18, 2010 at the VNA Hospice House of St. Luke's, Bethlehem. He was the husband of the late Donna (Rabe) Dougherty. Born March 12, 1925 in Camden, NJ, he was the son of the late Jerome and Caroline (Weber) Dougherty. He was the co-owner of the former Dougherty's Furniture Store in Berlin, NJ. He was a Navy pilot during WWII, and then served in the Reserves until 1963. He was a 50 year member of the Rotary International, Berlin, NJ. He was an avid aviation enthusiast, who loved his wife, his family, and the Navy. Surviving are children: Jerome III and his wife, Kathleen, of Jackson, NH; Linda, wife of Larry Lipson, of South Lyon, MI; Kenneth, and his wife, Louise, of Berlin, NH; and Sherri, wife of Frank Casilio , of Hellertown; 13 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his wife Donna in 2009; and his sisters, Caroline Marie Dougherty, and Loraine Gertrude Dougherty. Services will be private.
