Jennie Torda

Jennie J. Torda, 91, of Doylestown, and formerly of Hellertown, passed away August 8, 2013. She was the widow of Bernard C. Torda. Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Leonard A. and Filomena (Donatelli) Perrett. Jennie served her country honorably in the Navy during WWII. She was a graduate of the former Bethlehem Business College, and was a secretary for Lehigh University until 1988. She then was a secretary for the Cohen & Marcincin Law Offices, Hellertown. Jennie was a member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Hellertown, where she was a former guild member. She was a volunteer at the Hellertown Area Library. Surviving are daughter-in-laws: Linda, widow of Bernard Torda, of Doylestown; and Betsey, widow of Leonard Torda, of Hummels Wharf, PA; siblings: Leonard & Nicholas Perrett, and Marie Ballek, all of Bethlehem; and Pauline Fenol, of Newark, DE; grandchildren: Kelly, and Jessica; and great-grandchildren: Owen, Noah, Avery, and Brayden. She was also pre-deceased by grandsons, Michael and Sean. Services: A Funeral Mass will be at 10 AM on Wednesday at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, 1408 Easton Road, Hellertown. A viewing will be from 8:30-9:30 AM on Wednesday at the Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1418 Main Street, Hellertown. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery, Hellertown with military honors.
