Jan Kolbjørn Sonsteby

Jan Kolbjørn Sonsteby, 66, of Blue Church Road, Coopersburg, died suddenly at his home on January 23, 2009. He was the husband of Annette Rose (Kacsur) Sonsteby. They were married 43 years this past December. Born in Kristiansand, Norway, he was a son of the late Kaare Magnus Sonsteby and Inger Marie (Michalsen) Sonsteby. He graduated from M.I.T. with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, and received a Masters in Industrial Engineering from Lehigh University. He started his career at PPL in Allentown, and then became a Consulting Engineer for many years before retiring. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lansdale; and a former member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Allentown where he served on the church vestry. He was a former Upper Saucon Township Supervisor. He was a private pilot and an amateur radio operator. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. Surviving with his wife, are sons, Erik Lee Sonsteby , and his wife Sandra, of Sellersville; and Jon Michael Sonsteby, and his wife Christine, of Warrington; Brothers: Ornulv Sonsteby, and his wife Lynn, of Alexandra, VA; Truls Erik Sonsteby, and his wife Julie, of Greentown, PA; and Dr. Allan Gunnar Sonsteby, and his wife Sherrill, of Boalsburg, PA; and 2 grandchildren: Rachel Marie, and Kole Bjørn.
