James H. Shupe, 68, of Green Lane, died September 12, 2011. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy (Kriebel) Shupe. Born in W. Rockhill Twp., he was a son of Lillian (Hunsberger) Shupe of the Frederick Community and the late George B. Shupe. He was a 1960 graduate of Upper Perkiomen High School. He worked at the former Firestone in Pottstown and for Brown Printing in East Greenville then for Vertis Communications as a printing press operator and retired in 2007. He served his country honorably in the Army during the Vietnam War. James was a life member of the Green Lane Fire Co., and was a former firefighter. He was also a former member of the Green Lane Ambulance Corp. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Sumneytown. Surviving with his wife and mother are two sons, Brian and his wife Rebecca of Harrison Valley, PA, and Dale and his wife Laurie of Pennsburg; a brother, Jack and his wife Pat of Harleysville; and two sisters, Jane, wife of Mark Walker of Huffs Church, and Joy Benfield of Macungie; grandchildren, Alexis, Kayla, and Stephanie; his father-in-law, Samuel Kriebel of Souderton; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his infant brother, George. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church, 3104 Main Street, Sumneytown, PA 18084. All are invited to gather at the church from 9:30 - 10:45 a.m. on Friday. Contributions may be made in his memory to the American Diabetes Foundation, PO Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
