James Kneiss

James C. Kniess Sr., 90, of Hellertown, passed away on August 5, 2017. He was the husband of the late Grace (Meilinger) Kneiss. Born in Center Valley, he was a son of the late Joseph and Cecelia (Szipf) Kneiss. He served his county honorably in the Navy during WWII. He worked as a mechanic and field service representative for Giles & Ransome Inc. in Allentown for 30 years, retiring in 1990. Prior to that he worked for the Glascow Company for several years. He was a member of Edward H. Ackerman Post 397 of the American Legion and a life member of the VFW. He was also a member of the Spring Valley Sportsman Club. Survivors: A brother, Lawrence of Center Valley; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, James Jr. and siblings: Frank, Rose, Anna, Mary, Theresa, Joseph, Stephen, Michael, Albert, and Robert.
