James Calvin Harvat James Calvin Harvat, 82, of Hellertown, died May 4, 2008. Born November 3, 1926 in South Bound Brook, N.J. as one of 11 children to Daniel and Florence Harvat. He was a World War II Naval Veteran. He attended North Carolina State University where he studied Engineering and Agriculture and was the starting Football Center for the Wolfpack for four years. He was a dairy farmer in the early 60's in Flemington NJ and later became a Real Estate Salesman with his brother Edward for many years at Dollar Realty in Broadway NJ. He later sold real estate with Howell Realty of Washington and retired as a Real Estate Appraiser for Feller and Feller of Hopewell. He tended bar as a hobby for Felix's Tavern in Washington and Hillbilly Hall in Hopewell. He was a race car enthusiast, pit crewing with Bobby Pickell of Flemington, and for many years with Frankie Schneider of Sergantsville. He was a lifetime member of the Raritan Township Volunteer Fire Company, a member of the Broadway Fire Co. and the Franklin Twp. Rescue Squad. He was a Men's League Softball Coach and was one of the original founders of the Franklin Township Youth Association in Broadway. He enjoyed hunting fishing and playing his banjo's. He was a member of the Delaware Valley Horseman's Association. He was an avid horseman his whole life, hot walking race horses at local tracks as a boy, and tending to horses at shows, and at home with his daughter until his departure. He is survived by his former wife Helen Harvat, two sons: James and Mitchell, two daughters: Ginger and Susan, and 7 grandchildren. Brothers: Ronald and Thomas. Sisters: Dorothy, Dolores, Irene, Lynn and Brenda. Brothers Daniel, Edward and Douglas died earlier. Any Services will be private as per his request.
