Jacob L. Romich, 91, of Washington Street, East Greenville, died September 29, 2008. He was the husband of Carmel (Eichele) Romich. Born in West Pottsgrove, PA, he was a son of the late Jacob N. and Viola P. (Ludwig) Romich. He was a graduate of the Valley Forge Military Academy and the Williams Music School in New York. He played clarinet in the New York University Band before the war, and in Army bands during World War Two. He played for FD Roosevelt at Hyde Park, as well as at Carnegie Hall and at New York Town Hall for concerts. After his military service, he played in several local bands, including the Pottstown, Bally, and Red Hill Bands. He was employed at Superior Tube for almost 30 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Pennsburg. Surviving with his wife, is a son Terry, and his wife, Kathleen, of Green Lane; granddaughters: Heather, wife of Gerry Mack, of Emmaus, and Julie Romich, at home; and a great-grandson, Connor Mack. He was pre-deceased by a sister, Emma Madaras. Services will be at 11 AM on Friday at the Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc, Pennsburg. Friends may call from 10-11 AM.
