Ida Mazie Benner, 87, formerly of Red Hill, passed away March 21, 2013. She was the widow of Earl "Sleepy" Benner. Born in East Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Viola (Merkel) Steinman. She was a waitress at the former Prutzman's and Gabel's. She and her husband owned the former Benner's TV of East Greenville. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Red Hill and their "Lunch Bunch". She was also a member of the Upper Perkiomen Lioness', the Upper Perkiomen Senior Center, the Auxiliaries of the American Legion, Post #184 and the Owl's Nest #1302, both of East Greenville, the Perkiomen Chapter, #318, Order of the Eastern Star, and the Order of the Amaranth, Stroudsburg. She was a den mother earlier in life. Surviving are children: Gail, wife of Joseph Glushek, of Sellersville; Diane Benner, of Topton; and Barry Benner, of Pennsburg; Siblings: Shirley, wife of Gerald Cleary, of Bally; Edna Thompson, of Hemet, CA; and Harold Steinman, and his wife, Diane, of Pennsburg; grandchildren: Jennifer (Lonny) Stevenson, and Brent , Darian and Nicolas Benner; and a great-grandchild: Brooke Stevenson. She was pre-deceased by a son Bruce Benner in 1995; and siblings Anna Haller and James Steinman. Services will be on Tuesday at 10:30AM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Red Hill. Friends may call from 9-10AM Tuesday at church. An Amaranth Service will be held at 10 AM. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
