Herbert Lee Seddon III, age 83, of Perkiomenville, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home on April 16, 2026, surrounded by his children and sister.
Born in Flourtown, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Herbert Lee Seddon Jr. and Alice Marie (Hubler) Seddon. Herb graduated from Springfield High School (Montgomery County, PA) in 1960 and went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force. During his service, he worked on nuclear missile technology and repair at Minuteman missile sites.
Following his honorable discharge, Herb built a long and respected career as an electronic technician, first with Unisys Corporation in Blue Bell and later with Amplifier Research in Souderton.
Herb met his future wife, Sharyn, at St. Marie's Club in Lansdale on Halloween in 1969. They were married in 1970 and shared 55 years together, building a life centered on family and raising their two daughters, Christine and Kimberly.
A man of many talents and interests, Herb was an accomplished carpenter with a deep appreciation for architecture and craftsmanship. He designed and built a significant addition to the family home, including a spacious family room, bathroom, sunroom, and deck; spaces that became the heart of countless holidays, celebrations, and cherished gatherings.
He had a lifelong love of nature, tending to gardens filled with fruits and vegetables, and a curiosity about the universe, often spending evenings observing the stars through his telescope. He was an avid listener of audiobooks, particularly those focused on health, natural medicine and positive thinking.
Herb was also a passionate collector of Lionel trains, creating elaborate layouts in his younger years and delighting his family with festive train displays beneath the Christmas tree for many seasons.
He found simple joy in life's quieter moments; floating in his pool with a beer in hand; and treasured time spent with those he loved most. Above all, Herb's greatest joy was his family.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Sharyn Carol (Geyer) Seddon, in 2025 and his parents Herb Seddon Jr. and Alice Seddon of Flourtown.
He is survived by his daughters, Christine Seddon-Grofik and her husband, George Grofik and Kimberly Fossa and her husband, Frank Fossa; his sister, Diane B. Seddon; and his four grandchildren, Benjamin, Jack, Ava and Colette.
A private memorial service will be at the convenience of the family.
Falk Funeral Homes and Crematory, Pennsburg have been entrusted with arrangements.
