Herbert Hutchinson

October 17, 1917 — March 25, 2007

Herbert E. Hutchinson “Hutch” Herbert E. Hutchinson (“Hutch”), 89, of Nazareth, and formerly of Hellertown, died March 25, 2007, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the husband of Ruth (Emerich) Hutchinson. They were married for more than 35 years. Prior to Ruth, he was married to the late Dorothy (Frey) Hutchinson. Born on October 17, 1917 in Fountain Hill, he was a son of the late Mabel E. (Rothrock) and Raymond P. Hutchinson. He was a head roller for the former Bethlehem Steel Co., in Bethlehem for 40 years. He served his country honorably in the US Army during WW II, where he earned the Bronze Star and other medals while serving in Africa and Europe. Before moving to Nazareth, he lived in Hellertown for many years. In Hellertown, he was a member of the Edward F. Ackerman Post of the American Legion, and the Dewey Fire Company. He also served on the Hellertown Borough Council for eight years in the 1970’s and was known to have one of the best vegetable gardens in the entire borough. Survivors: Wife Ruth; daughters, Deborah A. Hutchinson and Gloria H. wife of Michael G. Bolton; step children, Marilyn Emerich and Douglas Emerich; grandchildren, David G. and Scott H. Bolton; and step grandchildren, Kevin and Keri Emerich. Services: will be held privately.
