Herbert Culp

Herbert L. Culp, 82, of Magazine Road, Green Lane, died January 21, 2010 at Grand View Hospital. He was the husband of M. Arlene (Nace) Culp. They were married 56 years last February. Born in Lansdale, he was a son of the late Otto Culp and the late Helen (Gaugler) Jernigan. He was raised by his grandparents, the late Willoughby and Emma (Batzel) Gaugler. He was employed at the former Firestone Tire Co, Pottstown, for 34 years, retiring as a foreman in 1980. Prior to that, he was a storekeeper third class with the United States Coast Guard. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sumneytown, and was a life member of Green Lane Fire Company. Survivors: wife, nephew, and nieces. He was pre-deceased by his son, H. Randy Culp on November 21, 2009, and his brother, Robert L. Culp, in 2003. Services will be private. The Falk Funeral Home & Crematory, Pennsburg is in charge of arrangements.
