Herbert Connellan

Herbert D. Connellan, 87, of Chancellor Street, Hellertown, and formerly of Hicksville, NY, died August 4, 2008 at home. He was the widower of Judith (Seitz) Connellan and the husband of Ruth Connellan. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was a son of the late Herbert and Anne (Bache) Connellan. He served in the US Army during World War II. He was a patrolman for the Nassau County (NY) Police Department for 20 years before retiring in 1974. Surviving are 3 sons: Herbert, of Montgomery, AL; Wayne, of Fogelsville, PA; and Gary, of Perkasie, PA; 2 daughters: Judy Carollo, of Telford, PA; and Donna DeChiaro, of Farmingville, NY; a brother, Ronnie Connellan, of Delhi, NY; 2 sisters: Dolores Somsen, of Sarasota, FL; and Florence McGovern, of Brooklyn, NY; 11 grandchildren: Melissa, Christian, Jude, Joseph, Michael, Shannon, Sarah, Ryan, John, Leah, and Tiffany; and 6 great-grandchlildren. Services will be on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1418 Main Street, Hellertown. A viewing will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday and from 10 a.m. until services on Friday.
