Henry Whittaker

Henry “Hank” James Whittaker, 91, of Allentown, and formerly of Pennsburg, passed away October 21, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Geraldine (Delestowicz). Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Horace and Mary (Vanderhershen) Whittaker. He was a Navy veteran of both WWII and Korea. Hank was a contractor in the Upper Perkiomen Valley for many years. He is a former Zoning Officer & Building Inspector for the Borough of Pennsburg, and served on the Upper Hanover Authority. He was a member of Pennsburg United Church of Christ, where he was the past president of Consistory, and a past member of the Cemetery and Search committees. Hank was also a member of the American Legion, Post #184, Palm; was past president of the Upper Perkiomen Lions Club; a former member of the Upper Hanover Historical Committee, the Lehigh Valley Naval Reserve Assn, and a member of the USS Topeka Reunion. Surviving with his wife, are children: Henry James Whittaker Jr., and his wife, Dianna, of Zionsville; Robert Whittaker, and his wife, Ruthann, of Pennsburg; Mary Cameron, of Allentown; and Susan Schirk, of Phoenixville; sister: Mildred Halket, of Marlton, NJ; grandchildren: James, Michael, Kelly, Tiffany, Adam, Tyler, Christopher, and Elizabeth, and a great grandson, William.. He was pre-deceased by his brother, William; his sister, Jayne Tomlin; his son-in-law, John Cameron; and his brother-in-laws: Howard Tomlin and Donald Halkert. Funeral Services will be at 3:00 PM on Saturday at the Falk Funeral Home, 163 Main Street, Pennsburg. A viewing will be from 2:00 - 3:00 PM. Interment will follow at Pennsburg UCC Cemetery.
