Henry Sell Stauffer, beloved husband and father, 75, of Gravel Pike, Palm was called home on August 12, 2007 in Pennsburg Manor. He was the husband of Anna (Moyer) Stauffer. They were married 52 years this past June. Born in Spinnerstown, he was a son of the late Stewart R. and Florence (Sell) Stauffer. He was a 1950 graduate of East Greenville High School, and a 1953 graduate of the Allentown Business School. He served his country as a sergeant in the Army during the Korean War. From 1964 until retiring in 1997, he was a Real Estate Broker in partnership with Don Lechner as Lechner and Stauffer Inc, Pennsburg. Prior to that, he served as a Real Estate Salesman, first for Strout Realty from 1959-1960, and then for the Betts Farm Agency from 1960-1964. He became a Real Estate Broker in 1961. He began his working career as a clerk at the former Palm Store from 1950-1959. Mr. Stauffer was a member of the West Swamp Mennonite Church, where he was a Sunday School Teacher from 1948-1970; served as the Sunday School Superintendent from 1964-1967; was President of the Church Council from 1972-1981; and served as a Deacon from 1994-2004, and then again from 2006 until the present. He was very community minded, serving as the President of the Upper Perkiomen Community Chest in 1964; was the Chairman of the Red Cross Fund Drive and the co-ordinator for their Bloodmobile Drive from 1966-67, he was a Past President of the Upper Perkiomen Valley Jaycees; was a Past President of the North Penn Board of Realtors; was a Director of the Upper Perkiomen Valley Chamber of Commerce from 1975-79; was a Past President of the Upper Perkiomen Lions Club, during which time he brought in 26 new members; was a Past President of the Upper Perkiomen Industrial Development Corporation from 1989-1994; he was a Trustee on the Grandview Hospital Board of Directors; was a member of the Board of Directors of the Upper Perkiomen Manor from 1994 until the present, serving as Board President from 2002 on; was a member of the Board of Directors of Camp Men-O-Lan, from 2001 until present. He was elected Justice of the Peace in Upper Hanover Township from 1967-1973. He was bestowed the Upper Perkiomen Jaycees Outstanding Man of the Year Award. In November, 2001, he was a Pennsylvania Guide for the first State Elk Hunt in 70 years. The first Bull Elk was harvested during that Hunt. Surviving with his wife, are 2 sons, Henry Brook Stauffer, and his wife, Marlene, of Barto; and Grant Stauffer, and his wife, Lisa, of Palmerton; 2 daughters: Holly, wife of Marty Krueger, of East Greenville; and Heather, wife of Mark Tornetta, of Macungie; a brother, Stanley, of Lower Saucon Township; a sister, Margaret Haring, of Quakertown; and 8 grandchildren: Tyson, Shawne, Kelsey, Jordan, Jarrett, Haley, Corrinn, and Serena. He was predeceased by a daughter, Tina, wife of Dave Iobst, of Allentown earlier this week. Services will be on Saturday at 11 AM at the West Swamp Mennonite Church, 2501 Allentown Road, Quakertown. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 6-8 PM at the Falk Funeral Home, 163 Main Street, Pennsburg and from 10-11 AM on Saturday at the church.
