Henry R. "Hank" Heintz, 93, of Perkiomenville, passed away November 13, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Catherine (Fries) Heintz, to whom he was married for 50 years before her death. Born in Willow Grove, he was a son of the late Frederick and Gertrude (Tim) Heintz. Henry was a Navy Veteran of WWII. He was employed by the US Postal Service, and served as the Post Master of Perkiomenville from 1956-1986. He was also a bartender at the former Perkiomenville Hotel that was owned by his parents for many years. Henry was a dedicated member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Sumneytown. He was a member of the White Ash Land Assoc. since 1954; and a member of the American Legion, Post #184, East Greenville; and of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Henry was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend who loved to golf, be a comedian, and mow grass. Surviving is his son, Henry R. Heintz Jr., and his girlfriend, Cheryl Sheeler, of Perkiomenville; and a brother, Elmer Heintz, of Sumneytown, and several nieces and nephews. Along with his wife, he was pre-deceased by a daughter, Lisa Heintz; a brother, Frederick Heintz Jr; and a sister, Gertrude (Heintz) Schatz. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013 at Friedens UCC, 1011 Church Road, Sumneytown. The Rev. Cheryl A. Stoneback will officiate. Family & friends may call from 9-10:30 AM at the church. Interment will immediately follow the service at the church cemetery.
