Helen K. Gilbert, 99, of the Peter Becker Home in Harleysville, and formerly of Green Lane, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2014. She was the wife of the late Earl K. Gilbert who passed away in 1990. A lifelong resident of Green Lane, she was a daughter of the late John and Bessie (Jones) Keelor. She worked for the former Green Lane Hosiery Mill in the 1930 and 1940’s. She was an active member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sumneytown, where she was a member of W.A.G.S. Helen was also a member of Perkiomen Chapter #318 of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years and a charter member of the Perkiomen Valley Art Center. Survivors: a son, David L. Gilbert of Middletown, PA; four grandchildren: John of Douglasville, Larry of Rheems, Betsy Hess of Elizabethtown, and Roxanne Waltz of Manheim; twelve great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren. Services: A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 4, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3104 Main Street, Sumneytown, PA with Rev. Rebecca Eisenhart officiating. All are invited to a viewing at the church from 10:00 a.m. to the beginning of the service. Interment will be in Frieden’s Union Cemetery, Sumneytown.
