Harry F. “Doc” Tornetta, 80, of Pennsburg, died March 21, 2009, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem. He was the husband of the late Jean (Sweisford) Tornetta. Born in Pennsburg, he was a son of the late Francis and Ruth (Maute) Tornetta. Doc served his country in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was an Iron worker for Local #36 for many years before retiring in 1991. He was a member of Pennsburg United Church of Christ. He was a member of the Macoby Run Golf Course and was an avid golfer. Earlier in life, he played semi-pro baseball for the Limeport team. He was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals, and pitched in the Military World Series. Surviving: sons: Keith, and his wife, Roxanne, of Palm; Scott, and his wife, Candi, of Pennsburg; and Mark, and his wife, Heather, of Macungie; 5 grandchildren: Gregory, Tracy, Shawne, Jarredd, and Shaan; and 2 great-grandchildren: Kiah and Talon. Memorial Services: Will be on Tuesday at 11 AM at the Falk Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc, Pennsburg. Friends may call from 10-11 AM. Interment will be at Pennsburg UCC Cemetery.
