Harold “Pete” Reigner, 88, of Frederick Living and formerly of Pennsburg, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2016. He was the beloved husband of June (Rothenberger) Reigner. Born in Pennsburg, he was a son of the late Ralph and Sarah (Schlicher) Reigner. He served his country honorably in the Army during the post WWII Japanese Occupation. Following that, he worked for the former Heavener & Shelly Department Store with Ralph Bieler. They purchased the store in 1954. In 1958, the store was re-named Bieler & Reigner which became Reigner’s after Mr. Bieler’s retirement in 1980. Pete retired in 1986 and sold the business to his son Kyle. He was a lifetime member of St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pennsburg, where he was a former church council member. He was a former member American Legion Post 184 in Palm; and a founding member of the former Upper Perkiomen Jaycees. He served on Pennsburg Borough Council. Surviving with his wife are his children: Peter, and his wife Maribeth, of Palm; Kyle, and his wife Joanne, of Pennsburg; Derek, of Bechtelsville; and Cheryl, wife of Wayne Dubs, of Green Lane; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by siblings: Erma Deischer, Edith Merkel, Shirley Derr. Services: 12 PM, Friday, St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 81 N. Main St., Pennsburg where all are invited to visit from 10 AM. Interment will follow the the service in the church cemetery. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the church.
