Grace N. Freed, 92, of Spinnerstown, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2015 in her daughter Joan’s home in Harrisburg, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Earl D. Freed who passed away in 2014. Born in Quakertown, she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Viola (Benner) Wieand. She was a devoted mother and wife and taught Piano in her home for almost 20 years. She was also an excellent seamstress. Grace was an active member of Trinity Great Swamp United Church of Christ in Spinnerstown where she served as organist and senior choir director for many years. She was also an active quilter and member of the Ladies Aid. Surviving are her children: Gerald “Jerry” Freed, and his wife, Carole, of Quakertown; Lynette Mackey, of Elizabethtown, PA; Joan, wife of Todd Kehler, of Harrisburg; a son-in-law Dale Hower of Zionsville; and a sister, Perma Reese of Quakertown; grandchildren: Craig, Lynne, Lisa, Dustin, Brandon, Tom, Becky, Aimee, David, Danny, and Jenna; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by a daughter, Merle Hower and a brother Carl Wieand; and a son-in-law, Robert Mackey. Services: A Celebration of her Life will be held on Thursday, May 14, at 11 AM at Trinity Great Swamp UCC, 9150 Spinnerstown Rd, Spinnerstown. Friends may visit from 9-11 AM at church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pennsburg, is in charge of arrangements. Contributions: May be made in her memory to the church or the Humane Society or ASPCA.
