Gilbert Smock

Gilbert A. Smock, 80, of Steel City, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 24, 2016. He was the husband of the late Geraldine (Cope) Smock. Born on March 4, 1935, he was a son of the late Gilbert and Gladys (Winch) Smock, Sr. He worked for the former Bethlehem Steel Corp for 39 years before retiring in 1992. Survivors: Daughters: Brenda Gehringer (John), Jeanie Smock, and Janie Beil (Joe); grandchildren, Katie Gehringer, and William and Nicole Smock, and a brother, Ray; and a sister, Roberta. He was predeceased by sons Gilbert III and William. He will be sadly missed by his daughters and their families. Services: 2 PM, Friday, Hellertown Union Cemetery.
