Geraldine Smock

Geraldine Mae Smock, 74, of Riverside Drive, Bethlehem, died July 12, 2008 at home. She was the wife of Gilbert A. Smock. They were married 54 years this past January. Born in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Helen (Murray) Cope. She was a secretary to the Magistrate in Hellertown for many years before retiring. Before that, she was a secretary at Holtz & Co. and the former Bethlehem Steel. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church of Freemansburg. Surviving with her husband, are daughters: Brenda, wife of John Gehringer, and Jeanie Smock, both of Catasauqua; and Janie, wife of Joe Beil, of Bethlehem; Siblings, Charles Cope, of Freemansburg; and Nancy Barnes, of Arizona, and 3 grandchildren: Katie, Billy, and Nikki. She was pre-deceased by sons Gilbert Smock III, and William A. Smock. Graveside services will be 10 AM on Wednesday at Union Cemetery, Hellertown.
