George Dougherty

George W. Dougherty, 87, of Country Meadows, Bethlehem, and formerly of Hellertown, passed away April 8, 2013. He was the widower of Evelyn (Clewell) Dougherty. He was a clerk for the Lehigh Valley Railroad for over 44 years, retiring from Consolidated Rail Corporation. George was a member of St. George's Episcopal Church, Hellertown; as well as a member of the Nutley Lodge #25, F.& A.M., and the Lehigh Valley Railroad Veteran's Assn. He served as a PA State Constable in Hellertown for 12 years; and was a volunteer at St. Luke's Hospital for over 4000 hours. Surviving are sons: Kenneth, and his wife, Patricia, of Easton; and Robert, and his wife, Terri, of Nazareth; a brother, Gerald, of Nesconset, NY; 4 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 AM on Friday, at the Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1418 Main Street, Hellertown. A viewing will be from 10-11 AM. Contributions: may be to St. Luke's Hospice.
