Genevieve (DeWitt) Wesselmann

Genevieve D. Wesselmann, 90, of Kirkland Village, Bethlehem, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2026. Born on October 12, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Florence (Gill) and Ernest DeWitt. She was the loving wife of the late Glenn A. Wesselmann.

Genevieve earned her degrees from Wagner College and Wayne State University and went on to have successful careers as a bacteriologist, lab technician, and a registered renal dietician. She enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling, and bird-watching. For many years, Genevieve volunteered at various organizations – leading Girl Scout troops, building houses for Habitat for Humanity, and taking mission trips to Honduras and Malawi. Her wry sense of humor and the way she kidded those she loved will be greatly missed.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Debbie Lee Wesselmann-Lopresti and her husband Daniel Lopresti, Scott Wesselmann and his wife Denise Wesselmann, and Janet Wesselmann and her husband Michael Doran; sister Lois DeWitt; grandchildren, Travis Wesselmann (Esther), Courtney Lopresti-Vaughn (Callie), Meggan Krzesak (Mark), Burke Doran (Rebecca), Lauren Wesselmann (Nik), and Patrick Doran; and 11 great-grandchildren. Genevieve was preceded in death by her brother, Ernest “Bud” DeWitt.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at the Kirkland Village auditorium, 1 Kirkland Village Cir. Bethlehem, PA 18017.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Parkinson’s Foundation.
