Gary Thomas Cox, of Blandon and formerly Red Hill, left this world on October 7, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on November 19, 1954, in Dearborn, Michigan, he was the son of the late Kenneth Stewart Sr. and Jean Churchill (Patterson) Cox. He was the beloved husband of Karen (Wentzel) Engle.
A graduate of Henry Ford High School, Gary went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree in accounting from Wayne State University in Michigan. He devoted 37 years of his career to the Unisys Corporation as a Corporate Accountant, moving from Georgia, to Michigan, and finally settling at their headquarters in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania. He also delivered newspapers for many years in the early morning, before heading to his full-time job. He was loved by his colleagues, and always participated in Take Your Child to Work Day.
Gary loved: spending time with his friends and family, being a father and a Grandfather, going on adventures and traveling with his wife Karen, playing cards (especially if he was winning), Navarre beach, Lord of the Rings, saying he was 'just resting his eyes' while he napped watching TV, and Michigan sports teams.
In addition to his wife, Gary is survived by his children, Will Cox and his parter Ross, Thomas Cox and his wife Martina, Kelly Cox and her fiancé Jason, Stephanie Cox and her wife Kenzie, and their mother Margaret; step-children, Drew Engle and his wife Heather, Sean Engle, and Holly Metzgar; grandchildren; Gabriella and Kenneth Cox, Ian, Darren, and Winter Metzgar, and Douden and Elijah Engle; sisters, Bonnie Carr and Cheryl Zezulka; nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Kenneth Stewart Cox Jr.
Per Gary's request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Gary's name to the American Cancer Society, and that you put on Jimmy Buffett, sit back, and relax for a while.
