Francis Anthony Hitcho

December 18, 1950 — January 26, 2024

Francis A. “Tony” Hitcho, 73, of Schnecksville passed away peacefully on Friday, January 26th, 2024, with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband for 50 years of Barbara (Bolt) Hitcho.

Born in Hazelton, PA, he was a son of the late Michael E. Sr. and Frances J. (Melkosky) Hitcho. Tony served his country honorably in the Army where he fought in the Vietnam War. He was talented mechanically and his last employment was in the Maintenance Department of the Walmart Distribution Center in Bethlehem. He was an avid reader, loving both fiction and non-fiction. Tony was a wealth of knowledge when it came to all things cars and motorcycles. He was a creative problem solver and could fix anything. He offered these skills to friends and family alike, always lending a hand. He kept meticulous records and was chaotically organized – he knew where things were. He was quick-witted and blunt, not shy in sharing his opinions. Tony cared deeply for animals and just like his dad, fed the birds twice a day. He was a good provider and teacher, even through

his last months – outside with his grandchildren playing and laughing. His companionship was remarkable and having him to share in everyday adventures will be missed. He was active right up until his undiagnosed cancer caused a rapid change in his life and took him too soon.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his Children: Amy Elisha Wright and her husband, Jason of Pipersville, PA, Ryan Anthony Hitcho and his wife Kathleen of Allentown, PA; his grandchildren: Thatcher and Linden Wright, and Averi Hitcho; his siblings: Monica Christman of GA, Michael Hitcho Jr. of Mechanicsburg, PA, Maryanna Funaro of CT, Daniel Hitcho of Allentown, PA, and his brother in law, Craig Garretson of Perkasie, PA. He was predeceased by his sisters, Regina (Garretson) and Susan (Zintak).

All are invited to visit from 10 am with a celebration of his life at 11 am on Thursday, February 8 in the Falk Funeral Home, 1418 Main St., Hellertown.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Wounded Warrier Project, woundedwarriorproject.org. Visit his “Book of Memories” at falkfuneralhomes.com.
