Frances Hoffman

July 7, 1925 — November 8, 2011

Frances M. Hoffman, 86, of Carls Hill Road, Zionsville, died November 8, 2011. Born in East Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Raymond M. and Mary D. (Jones) Heist. She was the widow of R. James Hoffman Sr., who died in 1971. After being widowed, she attended Allentown College briefly, then traveled throughout the US in her VW bus, her golden and corgi as companions. She was a practical nurse, working at the former Styer's Convalescent Home, Pennsburg, Quakertown Hospital, and Salt Lake City Hospital while residing there before returning to her childhood home. She was a member of the Hosensack E.C. Church, and the Church of the Latter Day Saints, Utah. She enjoyed gardening, music, and reading with a passion, acquiring over 2,000 books in her library. Surviving: are children: R. James Hoffman Jr. of Zionsville; Joel F. Hoffman, and his wife, Kathy, of Wellsville, NY; Jill E., wife of Raymond E. Fitch, of Barto; and Kriss A. Hoffman, DVM, Lincoln City, OR; brother: Merritt M. Heist, and his wife, Mary, of Bally; and 4 grandchildren: Jonathan D. Lamb, Jr, Joshua M. Lamb, 1st Lt. Kevin Hoffman, and his wife Heather K., and Andrea L. (Long), wife of Steve Silvestri; and 3 great-grandchildren: Jillian Frances Lamb, Thomas Silvestri and Keenan Silvestri. She was pre-deceased by a brother, David M. Heist, and a grandson, Jeremy Long. Services will be at 11 AM on Saturday at the Hosensack E.C.Church, 733 Buhman Road, Zionsville. A viewing will be from 6 to 8 PM on Friday at the Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pennsburg; and from 10-10:45 AM Saturday at the church.
