Flora Hari

Flora Ruth Hari, 86, of Hellertown, passed away on May 22, 2010 at St. Lukes Hospital, Ft. Hill surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Steven Hari Jr. from October 2, 1943 until his death in 1991. Born on Carlton Ave, in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Paul G. and Anna (Hahn) Perverzoff. She was baptized at the German Baptist Church in South Bethlehem, a descendent of one of the original charter member families of the church, which is presently known as Calvary Baptist Church. Her family moved to Lower Saucon Township, where she attended public school and graduated from Hellertown High in 1941. Flora worked at Lamberton Hall, Lehigh University and later was the head baker for the Saucon Valley High School. She was a member of Calypso Chapter of the Eastern Star, a 1000 hour volunteer at St. Lukes Hospital, a volunteer at “Helping Hands” of Calvary Baptist Church where she was a member, and one of the original “STRUDELERS” of the Hungarian Evangelical Reformed Church of Bethlehem where she was also a member. Survivors: Son, Rev. Ronald R. Hari; daughters, Barbara, wife of Glenn Brader, Marianne, wife of Fred Yochum; granddaughters, Beth Brader, Jill, wife of Steve Williams, and Alana Yochum; great grandsons, Harrison and Julian Williams; her beloved sister-in-law, Phyllis Perverzoff; a niece, Linda Scherbaum; God-children Beverly Zaum and Bruce Karp; and her cat “Chatham” (Puddy). Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Paul, and a granddaughter Robin Yochum. Services: A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, at the Hungarian Evangelical Reformed Church, North and High Sts. Bethlehem. Visitation will be 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., Wednesday at the Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1418 Main St., Hellertown, and at the church from 10 a.m. until the service begins. Interment will follow in Hellertown Union Cemetery. Contributions: The family requests memorials in her memory to the Hungarian Evangelical Reformed Church for the purpose of their Renovation and Restoration Fund.
