Fern C. Gilbert Fern C. Gilbert, 80, of Jefferson Street, East Greenville, died suddenly April 14, 2007. She was the wife of Harold “Tweet” Gilbert. They were married 59 years this past November. Born in Perkiomen Heights, she was a daughter of the late Chester and Mary A. (Gaugler) Christman. She was a graduate of Pennsburg High School, Class of ’44. She was a member of the Palm Schwenkfelder Church, where she sang on the church choir. She was a volunteer at Musikfest for 25 years. She was a member of the Upper Perkiomen Senior Citizens Center, where she sang with the choir. She also sang with The Over The Hill Gang. She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the American Legion, Post #184, Palm. She was an avid bowler for over 50 years in many leagues. In addition to being survived by her husband, she was the mother of: Dawn, wife of Robert Ortwein, of Bethlehem; Glenn, and his wife, Barbara, of Pennsburg; and Gregg, and his wife, Lee, of East Greenville; sister of Robert Christman, of Barto; and Evan Christman, of Allentown; and was pre-deceased by a sister, Betty Sweatt. She was the loving, and proud grandmother to: Jerry; Joel, and his wife Gabrielle; Jonathan and his wife, Mandi; Matthew; Brian; and Michael, and his wife, Denise… She also dearly loved her great-grandchildren: Mikela, Brenna, Jonah, Ashley, Sean, and Jenna. Services will be on Thursday at 10:30 AM at the Palm Schwenkfelder Church, Gravel Pike, Palm. A viewing will be on Wednesday from 7-9 PM at the Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, 163 Main Street, Pennsburg; and on Thursday, from 9:30-10:30 AM at the church. Interment will follow at Niantic Union Cemetery. On-line condolences may be made at falkfuneralhomes.com.
